Poem:- In pursuit of a Panacea for Mankind

We spend night and day counting neighbors wealth,
Gain not even half a coin but lose health.
We buy the best of houses, clothes and Car,
But get upset when the others purchase even better.

I very often think that mankind is engrossed in greed,
The only thing we care for is how to succeed,
Earning money is our lives only focus,
No profession any more can be called pious.

Self and our family is what we care,
We are not bothered about anything outside that sphere,
Let the poor die of hunger streak,
Let them shiver when winter is at peak.

I very often think that war is mankind’s bane,
Why do kids have to be orphan,
Why do parents have to part away with their son,
Why do wives have to spend rest of their lives alone.

But behold calmness is the world of human beings,
We can judge right and wrong through our instincts,
We should try not to get influenced by negativity,
Rather be a harbinger of joy, happiness and prosperity.

Today the world is plagued by unhappiness and sorrow,
We lack a guiding star, a philosophy that we can follow,
Which can bring happiness to self and fellow entity,
Can make the world a livable place for eternity.

I have a panacea that I want to mention,
It is a philosophy that spreads equality, happiness and compassion,
It is none other that Nicherin Buddhism I conclude,
The preaching of Buddha, Nicherin and 3 mentors encapsuled.

The mentors have paved the path of happiness and good,
To elevate all people to the lifestate of Buddhahood,
Where they could reveal their highest character,
By which war, famine, poverty and epidemics will disappear.
